The austere wind blown hilltop of Stockbury is only 7 miles northeast of Maidstone and about the same distance south of Rochester. There are a few buildings dating from the 1600's-1700's the most impressive being the great stone and mortar tower of St. Mary Magdalene Church. Stockbury village is built around a small green. 1 2
